Research about the effects of video games on brain development are often developed. But this time, the researchers are interested in knowing how the gameplay of the games that are hard enough to force someone thinks can help train the brain.
From a study of 77 people, researchers tried to compare the effects of two different games, Portal 2 and Lumosity. Please note that Lumosity is a specially developed game software to train the brain and the ability to think for players.
The 77th person spent about 8 hours to play Portal 2, and 8 hours on Lumosity anyway. Interestingly, previous Lumosity is claimed to increase the range of abilities, such as memory, focus, speed in processing something, mental flexibility, logic, and problem-solving skills.
All study participants were given the following tests before and after playing the game. The result, proved Portal 2 proved to be much more effective in training and improving the performance of a person's brain! "The Portal 2 player showed significant improvement in tests before (Portal 2 plays) and thereafter while Lumosity tests did not show any difference from before and after the test," according to the conclusions of the study.
Even so, the research conducted at Florida State University is touted can not provide maximum results and can be 100 percent acknowledged. The research sample believed that too little can not be a reference to draw a definite conclusion.
