Sony is going to close the PlayStation Home

Just like its two predecessors, the PlayStation 3 is very worthy to be aligned as one of the best-selling console ever launched by Sony. In addition because of the many game titles on board, Sony was always faithful to provide interesting content on the console.

As a PS3 gamers, you would be familiar with PlayStation Home. Yes, this is a social gaming platform which first entered the open beta phase in 2008. And now the PS3's PlayStation Home has reached the sixth year.

Unfortunately, since the declining popularity of PlayStation Home, Sony will close it on March 31, 2015. Not only that, but players certainly will not longer get the new content after 12 November 2014, however, Sony plans to release a variety of content for free to PlayStation Home before its closure.

PlayStation Home actually positioned itself as an additional part to provide maximum gaming experience on the PS3. The original plan was to provide the Trophy Room where players can show off to each other every collection. However it turns out, and PlayStation Home is used as a place to socialize gamers.

In PlayStation Home, gamers can meet and interact with other gamers using avatars that can be customized. Since its launch until now, Sony claims PlayStation Home has millions of users from all over the world.
